The founders of the project, the International Academy of Management and the Free Economic Society of Russia see its tasks in improving management efficiency; in the identification of the managerial elite, which made a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of the Russian economy; in the dissemination of advanced experience of leaders and public recognition of their merits.

Heads of enterprises and organizations of various sectors and areas of activity take part in the Moscow competition "Manager of the Year". The contest “Manager of the year in state and municipal administration” is held with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the executive authorities of the capital and its municipal areas. Among its tasks: to increase the efficiency of the system of state and municipal administration, information openness of the executive authorities, as well as strengthening the interaction of executive bodies with civil society institutions.

The competition “Best Manager of the Structural Unit” is attended by mid -level leaders, professionalism, competence and experience of which largely determine the effectiveness of the work of enterprises and organizations. The organizing committee of the Manager of the Year is headed by: G. The jury includes heads of departments and committees of the Moscow Government, city administrative districts, prominent scientists, public figures, and representatives of the business community.

The composition of the competition participants in the year reflects the changes taking place in the economy of the capital. A significant number of winners are the construction, transport, housing and communal services and, especially, the social sphere, which indicates increased attention of the Moscow government to the most important areas of the life of the metropolis. Based on the results of the contest “manager of the year”, the jury determined: 6 absolute winners, 40 winners in 16 industry nominations, as well as 26 managers of 5 companies in the “Team of the Year” nomination.

Among the participants of the contest “Manager of the year in the state and municipal administration” 13 winners in 6 nominations were identified.

In connection with the flight of the project “Manager of the Year”, 5 winners of the competition are awarded the anniversary diploma “For a significant contribution to the development of the effective management system”. Also, according to tradition, some participants were awarded special diplomas from the Publishing House "Economic Gazeta". This year they were awarded: Yunusov Lenar Albertovich, the rector of the autonomous non -profit organization of higher education “International University in Moscow” - for creating a unique infrastructure for organizing the modern educational process and the effective development of the university.
