Ruben Akhverdyana Biography

The future singer and performer was born on December 3 in the family of the famous philologist Levon Akhverdyan. His mother, Siranush Aunz is a theater critic. In M Akhverdyan he graduated from the Yerevan State Theater Institute. By that time, his copyright songs were already quite famous, in particular, thanks to the work on central television, where Akhverdyan put musical television praises with songs of his own composition.

The first production, the "Mill of the Devil" was already deafening success. The performance turned out to be iconic not only for him, but also for the main role, actor and friend Bard, Mikael Kotanjyan. In addition, this was the first color program in the history of Armenian television. However, the record itself has not been preserved to this day, only the songs that Akhverdyan performs at concerts remained.

In m, several songs of Akhverdyan sounded in the animated tape of Ovannes Dalakanyan “Found Dream”. Cartoon and the song “Snow”, which opens it, became cult. In parallel with the work on TV and in the theater, Akhverdyan toured the country and in fact on his own laid the foundations of the author’s song in Armenia. At the same time, the first record of “Songs of Love and Hope” happened only in M, in Paris.

Akhverdyan recorded several more albums already in x. The most famous songs of Akhverdyan are dedicated to his native Yerevan, and he even released several discs not under his surname, but as Ruben Yerevanzi, that is, “Yerevan”. Back in the Soviet years, he had a reputation as an uncompromising fighter with a regime. Hence a number of socio-political songs and active participation in independence rallies at the end of x.

And in X the most high -profile political statement of Akhverdyan was the song “Presidential Elections”, which became even more sharp and prickly thanks to the clip shot by Robert Sahakyan. In recent years, the singer continues to actively tour, but does not often write new songs. But there are old, tested by time and love of several generations. During the years of independence of Armenia, the Bard found a serious liver disease - the Armenian authorities organized a collection of donations to send Ruben for treatment abroad.

After treatment in France, the singer returned to his homeland and took up his favorite work. Currently, Ruben Akhverdyan, in addition to creative, is actively engaged in social activities.

The singer does not like to talk about himself, he only says: “Listen to my songs and look for me in them.”
