The following year, Zborovsky organized a personal exhibition of an artist in the Berta Vale Gallery. She was not successful, but caused a scandal by several images of naked nature: they were considered indecent, and at the request of the police the canvases were removed.

Nevertheless, some French and foreign collectors showed interest in the work of Modigliani. He went to the artist to the azure shore for rest and treatment and stayed there for some time, continuing to work hard. Modigliani died shortly after returning to Paris, on January 24 in the morning of the next day, Jeanne Ebütern committed suicide. The works of Modigliani combine the purity and sophistication of style, symbolism and humanism, a pagan sense of fullness and unbridled joy of life and a pathetic experience of torment always restless conscience.
