Childhood and youth The real name of the writer is Evgeny Ivanovich Skurko. He was born on September 4 in Pilkovshchina, which is now belonging to the Myadel district of the Minsk region of the Republic of Belarus. It was a wealthy peasant family, in which, in addition to Zhenya, three more children were brought up: Vera, Luda and Fedya. Pursuing beekeeping, the father of the family raised a fairly successful economy.
In addition, a hardworking man gradually clamped, made shoes to order was a good veterinarian and even practiced hypnosis. Skurko Sr. was an educated person, took three foreign languages and visited several times abroad. With all his skills, the head of the family shared with his son, who in adulthood could independently solve any household problem: he repaired plumbing, electrician, furniture.
During his residence in the capital, Eugene changed several educational institutions. The family returned to the native land only in the year. As a teenager, Zhenya joined the Communist Youth Union, where he participated in underground activities with other guys. Over time, the young man took the position of instructor of the Komsomol Central Committee for Western Belarus.
He was arrested several times, put in jail, but even there the young communist continued his stormy activity. While in conclusion, Skurko initiated the publication of the campaign magazine "Grate", the texts of which were written by hand. The future poet could not get higher education. There was a period when, while living in the Baltic states, he entered one of the universities from which he was expelled due to political beliefs.
The creative path in the middle of X, already under the pseudonym, Maxim Tank, conducted active campaigning in the territory of Western Belarus. He participated in the release of underground newspapers and magazines, which contained calls for the liberation of the Belarusian people. In M, he saw his first collection of poems called "at the stages." Soon a number of poems of the author came out, after which they spoke about him: “Kastus Kalinovsky”, “Cranberry”, “Order”.
They were followed by the books “Through the Fiery Horizon” and “Currection of the Weapon”, which became incredibly popular in those years.
