SFU biography
This day has become a reference point in the life of a Siberian Federal University. It was then that the government ordered the creation of a new university on the basis of the Krasnoyarsk State University. Over the past decade, the SFU has become the center of natural science and humanitarian knowledge behind the Urals, while performing its main mission: the study, development and development of Siberia.
No wonder the SFU development program in the project to increase international competitiveness has the symbol of the Taiga. Increasing the competitiveness of Russian education is the main goal of the formation of a network of national universities. They were expected from world -class scientific research, advanced educational technologies, the preparation of high -class, in demand in all sectors of the economy of specialists and, of course, high positions in industry ratings.
In the middle of the x, the President of Russia launched four priority national projects.
One of them was the “Education” national project, in the framework of which they decided to create universities in the new formation. Higher educational institutions decided to enlarge, assign them ratings and switch to a new principle of financing, depending on success. Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk fought for the right to "register" the university. As a result, the perfect combination turned out: five leading Krasnoyarsk universities, the richest natural resources, the largest exporting enterprises, they are also potential employers, a strong scientific base, large-scale investment projects and the interest of regional authorities.
The proximity to the Asia-Pacific region played a role. For ten years, the Siberian Federal District has firmly entrenched in Russian and international ratings. In the year, the university received four stars in the QS Stars rating, which is a recognition of leadership in the field of providing services in the education market. These achievements confirm that the university is on the right track.
The highly assessment of the university, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, is also justified: "The university occupies a special place in the development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and all of Siberia. In a short time, it has become a recognized scientific, educational and cultural center with modern educational audiences, laboratories and equipment, and most importantly-high intellectual potential." University: Instructions for use by the Siberian Federal University united five large universities: Krasnoyarsk State University, Polytechnic, University of Navy and Gold, Architectural and Construction Academy and the Trade and Economic Institute.
The latter joined the project in the year. All educational institutions were in different parts of the city. The Siberian Federal District’s leadership had the task of creating a campus on the model of the best universities. Campus is a unified environment where it is comfortable and 30 thousand. Their training and working day begins in 27 buildings on both banks of the Yenisei, and continues in 29 dormitories, dozens of sports sections, scientific laboratories, volunteer centers, studio, creative groups, coworking “Shishka”, university theater.
The main changes in the campus occurred in the summer of the year. Updated facades, modern architectural style, branded indicators, benches, lanterns provided the campus with the status of one of the most beautiful places in the city. New student dormitories are built according to the apartment type, which is a precedent for the region and most Russian universities. Twenty specialized institutions and three branches of the Siberian Federal District offer several hundred educational programs: for bachelors, for masters, 34 for specialists.
The graduate school presents 28 areas of preparation. Those who wish to obtain a degree that is confirmed by the international scientific community can protect themselves at PhD SibFu. Six educational programs in English are provided for them. Last year, two such defenses took place, two more passed in October. Work - in mathematics, biology, optics, cultural studies.
The university successfully implements the program for the modernization of educational activities. Teaching "according to manuals", a large amount of lectures is replaced by other formats: work on projects, webinars. For several years now, one of the priority projects for the Siberian Federal District is "electronic training and distance educational technologies", thanks to which many popular training courses are digitized.
The university has several corporate media. Scientific publications appear in the "Journal of the Siberian Federal University", including five independent series. Two newspapers - "New University Life" and "Siberian Forum. Intellectual Dialogue" - are used to discuss the most urgent problems. Ermak 3. In addition, periodicals are produced by institutions, branches and public associations.
The picture would be incomplete without mentioning 32 small scientific enterprises, amateur art groups, 30 KVN teams, five sports complexes, three ski bases, five football fields and three such elements and the image of the First Federal University of Russia is formed.Employers say that practical skills. Universities provide a high level of theoretical learning, but do not introduce students to modern design, technology and technologies.
These are the results of a survey of large employers, which SFU conducted in the year. The university decided to change the technology and content of engineering education. First of all, I had to fundamentally change the curriculum: to strengthen the practical part, to introduce systems of problematic and design learning. The needs of partner enterprises were taken as a landmark. They began to reduce the gap between theory and practice in September, when the SFU launched the strategic project "CDIO - Engineering Bachelor".
Thus began a new stage in the integration of the SFU into the international educational space. Now the CDIO program is implemented in more than a hundred universities around the world. In Russia, in addition to the SFU, six educational institutions joined the international initiative. The task of universities - CDIO members is to prepare engineers who can come up with a new product or a new technical idea, carry out all design work and implement what happened.
They must be able to work in a team and unite professionals around themselves. Today, the program covers three directions: "Heat power and heat engineering", "Metallurgy" and "Mechanical Engineering". CDIO students do not just go through the program. They solve new production problems, protect innovative projects. The creation of projects in combination with active teaching methods replaces them with writing a traditional course work.
In protection, the guys should demonstrate practical, design, engineering skills. So, in the summer of the year, students of the Polytechnic Institute of the Siberian Railway presented the expert commission of several dozen diverse projects, including a miniature boiler robot, which works with a wind and salt installation, a heat solar manifolder with a stirring engine.
Engineering special forces master training - for those who think about further career. It can become a springboard on the path to graduate school and life in science, or maybe a forge of high -class personnel who are ready to solve the most difficult tasks in modern production. In the case of the SFU, we are talking about a program of special engineering education, or, as it is called here, an elite magistracy.
It includes several areas that are supported by innovative partner enterprises. At the first stage, the management selected three programs tied to large employers. Graduates do not have to rack their heads where to work - after receiving the diploma they are waiting for them in the personnel department of the partner enterprise. Thus, the design program in engineering was picked up by the Radio School NPP, the program "System design of space aircraft" support "engineering satellite systems" named after Reshetneva, the program “Processing of metals by pressure” is developed in cooperation with several partners, in particular with the Krasmash plant.
The first component of the elite magistracy is a practice that lasts eight weeks and goes abroad. Students go to engineering centers or companies associated with Russian partners. There they work on real design tasks. Now foreign internships are distributed on a competitive basis. However, an elite engineer should not only come up with an idea, but also sell it.
Therefore, the second block, technological entrepreneurship, involves obtaining marketing skills. And finally, the global market requires confident knowledge of foreign languages. Accordingly, the third educational module is an intensive English language. The first 20 people were released in the year, all of them received a distribution. One of the graduates, Evald LPP, has already opened his own enterprise in Russia and became a technical employee of an international company.
Now 70 people are studying from undergraduates under the special engineering training program. Then SFU took a break to comprehend the results of the program. It made adjustments, added new directions to engineering in the petrochemical industry and metallurgy and began to form a sixth program - engineering training for nuclear medicine. The scientific approach of the Siberian Federal University began with a call: there were no such large -scale unions of universities, much had to be done from scratch.
Then there were even more challenges, but the university strove and will strive to answer everyone. Is it necessary to reform engineering education? To bring the university to the front edge of world science? Scientific life in the SFU was rapidly gaining momentum: in ten years more than 20 thousand have been prepared. At the moment, employees of 82 scientific laboratories are engaged in searching for answers to tomorrow's requests.
The SFU emphasizes that there is no second -rate, academic, Russian or American science. For the university, both applied scientific activities and setting tasks for fundamental science are important. Now the SFU is a recognized authority in the fields of cosmic navigation, biotechnology, chemistry and materials science, rational nature management. In areas such as Arctic studies, defense themes, exploration, new aluminum production technologies, deciphering the Siberian larch genome, the compilation of mathematical models of turbulence, the study of small peoples of the North, the university has achieved serious recognition at the international level.
The study of Siberia, its ecology, forests is one of the main scientific areas of the university. Scientists with a world name are going to work in Krasnoyarsk, postdles from India, Spain and Australia begin their career here. The federal program of megagrators allows the SFU to attract leading world scientists. The university won five such grants that allowed him to invite the Nobel laureate Osamu Shimomur, who created the Bioluminescent Biotechnology laboratory.
Ernst-Detlef Schulce worked here on the project "Biogeochemistry of the Ecosystems of Eurasia". Under the leadership of Anthony John Syeski, a laboratory of biotechnology of new biomaterials was created. Konstantin Krutovsky continues to lead the laboratory of forest genomics, where they decipher the genome of Siberian pine and larch.
