And later he taught acting at this university. At the university, Sergei met his wife, actress Sofia Pereman. According to him, when he saw her for the first time, the words seemed to sound in his head: "This is your wife." Sofia calls him a friend, husband and lover. They never quarreled in a life. And he recalls that in his youth her “screen villain” was still a romantic - he gave “keys to his heart”.

Sergey and Sofia studied together, and after graduation, they worked in Belarus for several years. They have been together for more than 35 years. Son Maxim Gruber is also an actor.
