Amirkhan Fatikh Zarifovich Biography

It is considered a classic of Tatar democratic literature and one of the founders of critical realism in the Tatar literature of the 20th century. Fatikh Amirkhan was a man of a dramatic fate, but a serious illness did not break him, his life and creative energy did not leave him almost until his death. He remained a romantic, dreamed of an ideal, enlightened Tatar world. The writer was the singer of the "new people" at the beginning of the 20th century, and this made him an idol of Tatar youth of those years.

Amirkhan had a chance to live and create in a turning point, in the era of a cardinal reassessment of spiritual values, when any public figure, including a writer, as if withstanding a harsh exam for honesty, stamina, and devotion to his beliefs. He was the spiritual support of Tukai, contributed to his development and disclosure of his talent. A person who is unable to even move on his own created bright works marked with great talent.

The writer's work is multifaceted. Fatikh Amirkhan managed to create such delightful prosaic works in the Tatar language that he was called the most soulful lyric of his people. Amirkhan, who had a rare talent of an artist, thinker, publicist, satirist, philosopher historian, the most complex creative tasks that he solved with his characteristic energy and grace.

A brilliant talent, a magnificent connoisseur of national traditions, he seemed to throw the bridge from old literature to new, from enlightenment to realism, becoming one of the pillars of an update process in national life. Researchers of the writer's work noted that each large work of F. Amirkhan was an event, a new page in Tatar literature. The distinctive features of his activity are the desire to penetrate into all pores of the cultural life of fellow tribesmen, belief, passion, a bet on the truth, no matter how unsightly and bitter.

The memory of Amirkhan, nicknamed the “top of the fate of the Tatars”, is devoted to a large number of poetic and journalistic works.
