We cannot take responsibility for the whole country, but we must do this at our university. Otherwise, the degradation of the university is guaranteed. By the way, this applies to almost the entire Higher School of the Russian Federation. Our institute on a university scale is equipped at good educational and technological levels. This is all thanks to the annual active participation of the state companies Transneft - Volga, Gazprom Transgaz Samara, Samara Neftegaz in the life of the faculty.
We have audiences with unique expensive operating models of equipment, which are not even in capital's universities. The only thing we lack is training space for classes. The situation is serious, requiring a radical solution, this, for example, is the construction of a new building. Moreover, there is a project, a place with communications. No money. However, this would allow the release of the current habitat in the former hostel and return this building again under the hostel.

Half a century ago, there was a period when various romantic ideas hung in the air, genetics, cybernetics developed, we tried to overtake other countries in the field of electronics and computer technology.
Although in those days oil and gas played a large role. Oil, of course, was “light”, good, and the cost of its production was less. Now - more, but the importance of oil production and oil refining has increased significantly against the background of other sectors of the economy that began to lag behind or were completely destroyed. It is very disappointing that, having such a huge natural potential, we slowly rise.
Something is constantly not enough to start our resources into business, to raise production. We need to develop, among other things, the humanitarian, cultural areas of life, but they strongly depend on the financial situation of the country. But in the year everything changed dramatically. I was called by my chief, head of the department “Automation and Telemechanics”, Outses Edgar Yakovlevich Rapoport and said that Vladimir Vasilievich Kalashnikov, at that time, the rector of the university, wants to make me the head of the department.
For what merits? At the department, I organized a class of modern means of managing technical systems. Just in the year I decided that we had to switch from Soviet funds to new, modern and something to do for this. I brought in certificates, contacted Schneider Electric. We agreed and jointly equipped the audience. Vladimir Vasilievich cited all the heads of the departments to demonstrate this "miracle of technology." I, the assistant professor, was even inconvenient.
That day, the year, I took only night for thought, and Edgar Yakovlevich called me early in the morning. He called and literally handed over the rector's ultimatum: either you agree, or you never come to the rector. I agreed and never regretted it.
