Despite the lack of support from the family and especially his father, Alexander was not going to deviate from his dreams. He decided to enter the Higher Theater School named after M. at the third stage of the exams, he collided with Igor Ilyinsky, actor, director and reclamator, whose work he admired, which caused him the excitement and oblivion of prepared speech.

The teacher Leonid Volkov came to the rescue, who saw a talented artist in an embarrassed young man. In the year, Alexander successfully completed his studies at the school and was admitted to the troupe of the Maly Theater. The theater and cinema triumph on the stage for the future star did not come right away. At the beginning of his career, the young actor was limited to the performance of secondary characters, embodying images on the stage that did not attract special attention of the audience.

As the iconic moment from which its take -off began, one can note the participation in the production of the "old man", created on the basis of the work of Maxim Gorky.
